			Stephanie Mahan Stigliano has created artist’s books since 1988. In these pieces, she combines visual art with craft and storytelling. She designs each book to reflect the content. She uses various materials ranging from terra cotta and suede to aluminum cans and bottle caps. The tactile qualities of these materials become more meaningful when the art can be touched. The art is taken off the wall, the book can be opened and the pages can be turned. This style of art combines many of the artist’s skills as a jeweler, painter, printmaker and writer.
