The purpose of The Switchbox Project is to bring the work of Malden artists directly to the public, with the intent of beautifying the city and showcasing the arts. The combined efforts of the Malden Cultural Council, the office of Malden Mayor Richard C. Howard, Malden Arts, as well as many dedicated volunteers, have made this opportunity possible. Raphael and Stephanie Stigliano painted Trees in 2010 at Highland and Pleasant Streets in Malden. Stephanie Stigliano painted Coffee in 2011 at Canal and Charles Streets in Malden. |

Window Arts Malden (WAM), the flagship Malden Arts project now in its sixth year, matches Malden artists with downtown businesses to create a three-week juried public art exhibit in Malden Center storefronts in September. WAM is organized by volunteers and has received generous support from the Malden Cultural Council, local businesses, and the office of Malden Mayor Richard C. Howard as part of a citywide arts initiative. |
